GH4738 alloy is a Ni-Co-Cr based deformable high temperature alloy strengthened by ' phase. Cobalt, chromium and molybdenum elements are added to the alloy for solid solution strengthening, aluminum and titanium elements are added to form Y precipitation strengthening phase, and boron and zirconium elements are added to purify and strengthen grain boundaries. The biggest feature of the alloy at 760 degree -870 degree is its excellent strength-toughness matching and ability to resist creep fatigue interaction, so it is often used as a critical component material in aircraft engines, such as turbine disks, working blades, high-temperature fasteners, flame tubes, shafts and turbine casings.

GH4738 Alloy Process Performance and Requirements

1) The alloy is easy to form at a forging temperature between 1220 and 950 degree . The alloy is solution treated after the intense forming process.

2) The average grain size of the alloy is closely related to the degree of deformation and final forging temperature of the forging.

3) The alloy has good welding performance and can be welded in various ways. Aging treatment after welding can obtain strength close to that of the fully heat treated state.

4) The heat treatment of parts is carried out in a sulfur-free neutral or reducing atmosphere to avoid sulfidation.
